The gal behind Hello Baby Names
Hey, friends.
I’m Morgan.
Baby name consultant, naming-data enthusiast, and the person who always wants to know what you named your baby.
I turned a lifelong curiosity into a career helping parents find names they’re excited to choose.

How it all
Before the business,
there were baby-name lists.
My interest in names started long before anyone was asking for my advice. As a little girl, I’d ask strangers about their babies and offer name opinions to the expecting parents at my mom’s in-home daycare.
Later, I spent my precious daily computer time in the baby-name section of Yahoo! Answers. If you were there too, we may have crossed paths!
Then came the spreadsheets. After learning Excel in middle school, I went home and started tracking names and their popularity over time. I was fascinated by the patterns: which names caught on, which faded, and how tastes changed.
That mix of curiosity and research became the foundation of Hello Baby Names and the work I get to do with families today.
There’s room for both the spreadsheet and the name you just can’t stop thinking about.
My approach to naming
The details matter.
So does how a name feels.
Follow your taste.
Your favorites are clues. The sounds, styles, and little details you’re drawn to give us a to begin, even when you and your partner have very different lists.
Look a little closer.
Popularity, nicknames, sibling names, and the way a first name sounds with your surname can all shape your shortlist. We can make space for what matters to you.
Leave room for delight.
Sometimes a familiar favorite wins. Sometimes it’s a name you hadn’t considered. The search should leave room for a pleasant surprise.
Where shall we start?
A little inspiration.
Or a little extra help.
